We are reminded that our identity as children of God fundamentally transforms how we live while in exile. Grounded in the secure foundation of what God has already graciously accomplished, the gospel moves us from a checklist of moral rules to displaying the true "family resemblance" of our Heavenly Father. Because we have been adopted by the King, we are called to actively set our hope entirely on future grace, reject the sinful passions of our former ignorance, and pursue holiness in every ordinary, weekday area of our conduct. Our holiness is the fruit of our salvation, empowered by His divine strength to reflect His character of love, mercy, and patience to a world that is not our home.
